Superfoods for Gorgeous Skin

Hey Dolls! We are always looking for ways to improve our skin apperence. Its not just what we put on top of our skin but most importantly what goes into our bodies. Below I will give a brief discription of some SUPER foods that will help give you radiant glowing skin without it hurting your pockets. Lets look ....

"BLUEBERRIES" The anioxidants in this berry protects you from premature aging which we all try to prevent. Blueberries were also ranked #1 antioxidant activity by the U.S. Department of Agriculture compared to tons of friuts and veggies. By adding 1 cup of blueberries to your yogurt, cereal or even top off your waffles can help prevent premature aging.

"WILD SALMON" (not farm-raised) -- is one of the best food sources for omega-3 fatty acids, which helps keep your skin supple and moisturized. Also a great anti-inflamintory for people who are acne prone. Selenium, a mineral that protects the skin from sun exposure which salmon contains as well. By adding 2 servings of 3 ounces a week you can start to obtain clear glowing skin. Try it grilled, baked, in your pasta, with a salad, in sushi, or just with a side of asparagus.

"WALNUTS & ALMONDS" By eating a handful of these nuts will give you loads of vitamin E and omgea 3 fatty acids, which are awesome for smoother skin, brighter eyes, heathly hair, and stronger bones. Eating to much can cause weight gain so remember just a handful will do a day.

"Dark Chocolate" YES chocolate is a super beauty food that doesnt make you break out. Now the key to eating this wonderful piece of greatness is to keep in mind that the best kind of chocolate has a high flavanol content & should be at least 60 percent cacao. Dark chocolate helps skin to stay hydrated & protects from sun damage. So keeping a stash somewhere is high reccommended.

"SWEET POTATOES" This veggie is packed with beta-carotene, an antioxidant that helps fights aging. Try them baked, mashed, cut up in any salad, pasta or just as a snack.

"GRAPEFRUIT" The anti-oxidants in grapefruit will fight free radicals in the skin that can cause lines, wrinkles, discolorations and other blemishes that can make you look older than you are, this fruit can also be applied directly to the skin.  Grapefruit juice also has restorative properties that can help tone skin, even out skin color, and safely and gently cleanse skin. 1/2 of a grapefruit a day is reccommended.

These are just scratching the surface of some of the most powerful SUPERFOODS out there that are affordable, taste great, and will have you looking gorgeous!

Whats my Secret?

I love using colored eye liner in my waterline. I absolutely love the the extra dimension it give the eyes. Depending of course of your eye color will give that extra "POP" your looking for with your makeup!

Let's take a look into color theory for a second.
We want to find out which colors are going to make your eyes "POP" or stand out, so what we are doing here is creating tension. Instead of using brown shadows or liners for brown eyes which isn't going to make the eyes "POP" more blend in with the shadows. This will be fun!

  • Brown Eyes: We want to use shades of "Purple" Violet is opposite yellow. So when you put purple on a brown eye, the gold (form of yellow) flecks will really show! Blues will also pull out flecks of orange/ bronze. As well as green will also give the appearance of a lighter shade eye color. If we are trying to go for a more natural look we can start by using more mauve colors neutrals shades paired with brown eyeliner. Wild and playful colors such as neon's and pinks will really make the eye pop as well as darker plums paired with dark brown or black eye shadows for a more elegant evening look.

  • Green/Hazel Eyes: Shades of "Burgundy/Dark Violets/Mauve" Burgundy and Purple are made with Red. And Red is the opposite Green. More warm undertones such as soft pink and peach will give a more romantic look and adding shimmery bronze will enhance the look. As any blue eyeshadow will really draw out the eye. When turning this looking into a night on the town charcoal grey with metallic bronze will really explode your eyes or you can use forest dark green colors with specks of yellow to really bring out the iris of the eye.

  • Blue Eyes: Shades of "Peaches/Orange-Browns" …Peach is a tint of orange. (Remember, tint is taking orange and adding white. So basically it’s a lighter orange) Orange is the opposite of blue. Violet will also bring out the eye to more of an Ice blue. Blue eye shadows no matter how you use them on blue eyes will enhance, pop, and even add drama to the eye for a night out paired with black eyeshadow. Grey and Charcoal can be use day/night for blue eyes and giving your eyes that extra striking effect.

Now, these are just basic techniques to enhance your eyes using eye shadows, liners, and pigments. The possibilities are endless when playing with makeup. As long as you are confident with your skills you can pull off any look that goes well with your skin complexion and eye color. For more techniques or to schedule your next session please inquire email, phone, or social media. Look forward to working with you soon dolls!

5 Prom Tips

Hello Dolls,  Prom is right around the corner are you ready? With all the craziness going on the last thing you need to worry about is how your make up will look. Well look no further I'll be here for any of make up needs on your big day on becoming Prom Queen! Here are 5 easy steps to start with when finalizing your look.

#1 Start off with choosing your focus either EYES or LIPS. This doesn't mean you have to wear one or the other simply just if you want a dramatic eye we need to downplay the lip to nudes; soft pinks; or blush reds. This way we are still maintaining a natural balance on the face

#2 Play up your best features. Whether it be your lips, eyes, or even check bones. By enhancing your best features will help to pull this look together to becoming more glamorous. One Famous feature that most dolls love the most is contour & highlight. This brings out the bone structure on the face while giving you a more mature look as well.

#3 Choose colors wisely. Just because your dress is green doesn't mean you have to wear green eye shows. Your want to remember that your make up is an accessories to your overall look. (like your purse or shoes) so choosing eye shadows will be a vital part in bringing your look together. So we want to choose colors that will compliment your eye color as well as your eye shape, and undertones of your skin complexion.

#4 Prepping for Photos. Very Important you want to choose foundations that don't have much SPF in them due to the titanium dioxide, which causing light to reflect back from the camera. We want to make sure that we are staying away from anything that will make you appear more shiny. Remember that we want the skin to look as natural radiant as possible. Remember by prepping the skin well, will give us the radiance that we are looking for. I would recommend a matte foundation.

#5 What to bring in your purse. This could be the most essential part of your whole night. A blot powder is better than a foundation powder. (as a blot powder is translucent & wont leave you looking cakey.) or blot papers to reduce oil. Your lipstick/lip gloss for touch ups. Concealer for emergencies, travel-size can of hairspray, breath mints, and a mirror to pull it all off!

Duplicating the perfect look is all about technique even if your dont look exactally like the model in the photo you can still pull the look off. Its all about placement & technique. Make up is an Illusion that assists us in transforming ourselves in minutes. It creates harmony and balance to the features and adds the Feminine aspects of Beauty, Softness, and Color. Proper makeup effects are vital to one’s total appearance, as the face is the key to our expression. My sessions are filled with fun, save you time, be more economical, and you will look Fabulous, feel Amazing & more confident to take the world by storm. How fortunate we are to be beautiful ladies, allowed these wonderful tools to alter our appearance, create Magic, Mystery and Allure in more subtle ways than imagined.

Turning simple looks like (red lip & wing eye liner) to the next level for a more sultry natural look where it looks painted on. Anyone can pull off any look possible you just have to have the confidence to pull it off. "No Worries" Thats where I come in!

Natural Beauty consist of perfect skin and the apperence of little to no make up. Wanting to have perfect skin? Who doesn't ... 1st most importantly we have to start with a good skin care regement. This will hydrate and give the skin its nutriants that it is in need of ... you want to rememeber your skin (face) is an organ and whatever you put on top of it your skin will drink like water. Skin Care products I absouletly love are; Prevage; Orgins, & Lightful by MAC. Any natural substances will work wonders to obtaining natural radiant flawless skin. After finding your perfect moisture we need to find a good primer. Now primer for your face is only to be used when using makeup. Some may ask "What is the purpose of Primer?" I like to look at it as painting a wall. What happens to the paint on the wall if no "PRIMER" is used. Righhtt! You dont get a nice even coat or coverage of paint ie. makeup. So Primer is going to prep the skin for makeup giving us a more even coverage, prevents seperation, and allows make up to last longer. Just like painting a wall. Now there are alot of different primers out there ones I love to use and reccommend are: Bare Escentuals "Prime Time"; Smashbox Photo Finish & Laura Mercier just to name a few. Finally we want to find a foundation that is going to make the look come together remembering that less is more. You dont have to apply tons of foundation on the face using just a tad will send the skin to the next level. Making sure that the skin is well hydrated & primed your skin will already look different the makeup just enhances your beauty.

Creating the Peerrfff smokey eye

Creating the perfect smokey eye is more about the technique that your using rather than the colors. Start off by using a good primer to set the eyeshadows this way the colors will become brighter on the lid & last longer. The purpose of a smokey eye to to enchance your eyes to appear bigger & bolder; from far away. I absoultey love Urban Decays Eye Primer. Next choose up to 4 colors: Important need a highlight; contour; blending & main color. Example below: Highlight:Carefree; Contour:Brown Script; Blending:Cork; & Main:Carbon. All found at MAC. These colors are great for any skin type and eye shape. I like to start from top to bottom using the highlight color right underneath the eyebrows then moving right uner the brow bone to enhance or build a crease if one doesnt have one by using Brown Script. Next take Carbon on the outter & inner corners of the lid, leaving space in the middle for Carefree. Going back to the crease use your blending color to take away any harsh lines & give the eye an extra dimension. Eyeliner & Lashes will make the look more dramatic, really perfect for a night out!

Kitchen Stories

We where invited to make a "Kitchen Stories" edition in Bucharest for the finisage of the exhibition we also bin part of. People
cooked from our notebook archive of recipes, that we getter for the project, and even made on the spot some different biscuit
salami recipes.
It was a very nice afternoon with very friendly and interesting people (and rather hard working for the sunny weather outside).

+

thank you again to Stefan Sava, that probably ate less but documented the action in the "kitchen".
